Gupshup Product Updates

New field now available for Recharge Invoice

A new field is now available in Billing Details of Wallet, allowing you to display tax registration information or any such element, directly on recharge invoices. The field also now supports special characters - especially ‘&’, enabling better compatibility with regional tax formats and business requirements with some regions.

Delete Sandbox App API Now Available

Partners can now programmatically delete sandbox apps using the newly available API on the Partner Portal. This helps streamline sandbox management and keeps test environments clean and organized. Read the docs

API for enabling/disabling BSUID flag available now

As you are aware, in the first phase, we have introduced optional support for BSUIDs with minimal disruption:

No default changes

Your current setup will continue to work as-is. Messaging via phone numbers (v2 and v3) remains unchanged.

Optional BSUID enablement (App-level flag)

Partners can choose to enable a flag to receive BSUID-related data (such as username, BSUID, etc.) along with phone numbers in:

  • Incoming messages
  • Delivery reports (DLRs)

Enablement options

  1. The partner API to enable BSUID flag for V2 or V3 or both is provided here
  2. Gupshup.ai UI support is live- The steps for the same are updated in the guide here

Update to WABA Embedded Sign-Up Experience

Previously, when you shared the Embedded Sign-Up link with your customers, the link would open directly to the Gupshup interface, where customers could proceed by selecting the “Continue to Facebook” option.

Going forward, before customers are redirected to Meta for onboarding, they will first be required to review and accept a set of Terms & Conditions, as shown in the screenshot below.

On accepting the same, the user can then see the 'Continue with Facebook' option and continue the flow as usual.

This update is being introduced to ensure better compliance and provide greater clarity on onboarding requirements to the customer before account setup begins.

Please note: This will be part of the onboarding flow for all new Embedded Sign-Up journeys. You may inform your new customers in advance to avoid confusion during onboarding. No technical action is required from your side for this change.

Docs Updates : WhatsApp Single-Product Template Messages and Product Card Carousel Templates

New documentation has been added for sending WhatsApp Single-Product Template Messages and Product Card Carousel Templates via Gupshup APIs. These guides help partners quickly implement interactive commerce messaging experiences with rich product discovery flows.

  1. Single-Product Template Messages Documentation
  2. Product Card Carousel Templates Documentation

Improvement : Outdated conversation-specific elements removed from Partner Portal

Conversation-specific elements have now been removed from the Partner Portal UI, as these components are no longer relevant with the latest platform and Meta pricing model updates. This cleanup helps simplify the interface and ensures partners only see current, actionable messaging information.

Bug Fix : Meta Template Library Sync

The Meta Template Library sync issue on Gupshup.ai has now been resolved, and now templates in Meta’s library are syncing successfully - for you to utilize Meta’s library seamlessly within the Gupshup platform.

Bug Fix : Sync of Templates Deleted at Meta

Templates deleted directly at Meta will now automatically sync and reflect as deleted on Gupshup as well. This ensures better template consistency across platforms and reduces manual cleanup efforts for partners.

Security Improvements -

One-Time Visibility for App Tokens & API Keys

To improve credential security and reduce accidental exposure risks:

  • App Tokens and App API Keys will now be visible only once immediately after generation
  • After the initial view, the value will no longer be accessible from the UI

NOTE : Store them securely in internal password vaults or credential management systems

MFA Enforcement and Password Rotation

To further strengthen account-level protection across platforms, the following user authentication policies will become mandatory on Partner.Gupshup.io (starting 31st May 2026)
A. Authenticator-Based MFA Enforcement

B. Mandatory Password Rotation every 90 days

Reduced Login Session Duration

To further strengthen platform security on Gupshup.ai we are enhancing session management controls across the platform. As part of this update, login session validity is reduced from 24 hours to 12 hours. Users may be required to log in again after the session expires.

WhatsApp API Version Upgrade to v24.0

Meta has introduced changes as part of WhatsApp API version 24.0, and we will be upgrading our systems to support v24.0 during this month.

As part of this change: For version 24.0 and newer requests, the status messages webhook will no longer include the conversation object, unless the webhook is for a message sent during an open Free Entry Point window.
